GearChain New Feature: Manual Entry

At GearChain, we are excited to announce a new feature release on our MVP (beta) app that’s set to enhance your user experience! Our latest update introduces the “Manual Entry” option, a convenient solution for recording items when scanning a barcode isn’t possible. This could be due to damaged barcodes, barcodes not available, or items that simply do not have one, like wine or construction materials.

Why Manual Entry?

We understand the challenges that come with these cases. That’s why we’ve introduced two easy-to-use options:

Enter Barcode: Can’t scan a barcode but need to update? No problem! Just click the “Manual Entry” button to input the item barcode number manually. This option allows you to lookup and record items without scanning, ensuring that your inventory is always up to date.

No Barcode Option: For items without a barcode label, click the “No Barcode” option. This will generate a unique GearChain (GC) number for the item. Simply enter the necessary information and submit it. This feature is perfect for uniquely identifying and managing items that are typically not labeled, providing a seamless inventory management experience.

Print Custom Labels

In addition to manual entry, this update gives you the ability to print custom labels. Navigate to the Product page, select item detail, and print a custom label right from there. This feature is designed to make inventory management more efficient and tailored to your specific needs.
