A guide to adding(opting in) GearChain asset to your wallet

GearChain is an Algorand Standard Asset (ASA) deployed on Algorand Mainnet on August 8th, 2022 with Unit Name ‘GEGA’ and a total supply of 10,000,000,000 (10 Billion).

Our official GearChain ASA ID is 833554523. AlgoExplorer verified the Gearchain asset on August 10, 2022.

Getting Started

If you wish to send/receive GearChain tokens, you must opt in to the GearChain asset in your Algorand Wallet.

Currently, there are three major Algorand wallets on the market. Do not click on phishing websites with similar names or URLs. Here are the official Algorand Wallets:

• MyAlgo Wallet (https://wallet.myalgo.com/)
• Pera Algo Wallet (https://perawallet.app/)
• AlgoSigner Wallet by Purestake (https://www.purestake.com/technology/algosigner/)

Add GearChain on MyAlgo Wallet

MyAlgo Official URL: https://wallet.myalgo.com/
Platform: Web App


1. Go to MyAlgo wallet and access/create/import your Wallet. To create a wallet, read MyAlgo’s official guide ‘How to create a new Algorand Account in MyAlgo?’ here.

2. Add (opt-in) the GearChain asset by clicking the ‘Asset’ button.

3. Enter the ASA ID 833554523 (GearChain, GEGA) and complete the transaction. In order to add the asset, a transaction fee of 0.001 Algos required. To complete the opt-in process, make sure you have sufficient Algo tokens in your wallet.

4. The GearChain asset is now added to your MyAlgo Wallet. Now you are ready to receive your GearChain token (GEGA).

Add GearChain on Pera Algo Wallet

Pera Algo Official URL: https://perawallet.app/
Platform: iOS, Android app

1. Go to Pera Algo Wallet and access/create/import your wallet. To create a wallet, please read the Pera Algo wallet’s official guide here.

2. Go to your account and click [+] button above the ‘Search assets’ bar. Enter the GearChain ASA ID 833554523 or Gearchain on the search asset bar. You will find GearChain on the list. Click [+] button to add.

3. Click the ‘Approve’ button to complete the transaction. In order to add the asset, a transaction fee of 0.001 Algos required. To complete the opt-in process, make sure you have sufficient Algo tokens in your wallet.

4. The GearChain asset is now added to your Pera AlgoWallet. Now you are ready to receive your GearChain token (GEGA).

Add GEARCHAIN on AlgoSigner Wallet

Platform: Google Chrome Extension

1. Go to AlgoSigner Wallet and access/create/import your wallet. To create a wallet, please read the AlgoSigner’s official wallet guide here.

2. Go to your account and click ‘(+) Opt-in to an asset’ link. Toggle to ‘All’ tab and enter the GearChain ASA ID 833554523


3. Ensure the ASA ID and Asset name and click ‘Opt-in to asset!’ button to complete the transaction. In order to add the asset, a transaction fee of 0.001 Algos required. To complete the opt-in process, make sure you have sufficient Algo tokens in your wallet.

4. The GearChain asset is now added to your AlgoSigner Wallet. Now you are ready to receive your GearChain token (GEGA).
