How to Enable Blockchain Asset Tracking

Updated · GearChain Team

Learn how to enable blockchain tracking for assets when you need additional traceability, provenance, or an auditable asset record.

Blockchain verification is an optional part of the tracking workflow. Use it when you need an external record of a submitted event, and check the network and explorer information shown by the app.

Steps

  1. Open the relevant blockchain settings in GearChain.
  2. Review the available verification option and enable it for the workflow you want to test.
  3. Record a sample inventory event using the connected workflow.
  4. Open the resulting transaction or verification link when it is available.
  5. Compare the event information with the record in GearChain and retain the reference needed for your audit.

Check the result

A transaction reference helps verify a submitted digital record. Your team still needs a reliable process for entering item and quantity information.
