How to Sync Excel with GearChain Using OneDrive (beta)

Learn how to connect GearChain with Microsoft OneDrive and keep your inventory data synchronized with Excel.

Export inventory from GearChain to Excel through OneDrive using a personal or business Microsoft account. Both support export and real-time sync. Updates flow one way from GearChain to the workbook; edits in Excel do not update GearChain.

Steps

1. Open the form you want to connect and check the Excel/OneDrive options in Import/Export.
2. Sign in with the Microsoft account used for the workbook connection and review the requested access.
3. Follow the connection workflow to create or select the GearChain workbook in OneDrive.
4. Confirm the destination workbook, worksheet, and fields before enabling the available sync option.
5. Update a sample item in GearChain and check the connected workbook.
6. Make inventory changes in GearChain. To bring Excel data into GearChain, use the import workflow; editing the workbook does not sync changes back.

Check the result

Keep account, plan, and sync-mode requirements in mind. If a sync option is unavailable, check the current connection details or contact support.
