How to Create Bulk Barcode Labels and GS1 Digital Link Labels

Updated · GearChain Team

Learn how to generate barcode labels in bulk and create GS1 Digital Link labels for products and inventory.

The bulk label tool lets you prepare many labels from a data file. A GS1 Digital Link has a different purpose from an internal stock identifier, so choose the format before importing the list.

Steps

  1. Open the free bulk barcode and GS1 label tool from the Barcode Labels page.
  2. Prepare your item values in the format requested by the tool and import the file.
  3. Choose a standard barcode, QR code, or GS1 Digital Link format for the intended use.
  4. For a GS1 workflow, use the product identifiers and data assigned to your products; generating a label does not assign a new GS1 identifier.
  5. Choose the matching sheet or label layout and review a preview of the imported rows.
  6. Print a small test and verify the scanned data before printing the full batch.

Check the result

Confirm the imported row count, identifier formatting, paper size, and printer scaling.
